For The Schieffer Series, a major public event series hosted by CBS News chief Washington correspondent and host of the Face the Nation news hour, Bob Schieffer. Through the Schieffer Series, CSIS informs the general public about timely issues of international importance, by bringing together its experts with key players in government and media for engaging discussion in front of a live audience. CSIS is a public policy institution established in 1962 that conducts research and analysis and develops policy initiatives on defense and security matters, the economic and political challenges of globalization, and regional transformation in the U.S. and around the globe. CSIS employs 220 full-time staff and has a large network of affiliated experts.
