For rebuilding and maintaining two Zeus Temple columns. In ancient times, the temple of Nemean Zeus stood at the center of a sacred area resembling the temple of Zeus in Olympia and Apollo in Delphi. The temple, which was built in 330 B.C., consisted of 32 columns and was distinguished by unique analogies. Only one of the temple’s original columns and two in the vestibule survived to modern times. Two of the temple’s columns were reerected as part of the reconstruction of the entire northeast side. The improvements to the monument facilitate its viewing by visitors. Prior to the column repairs, the temple presented a confusing vista, particularly when seen from a distance.
