Helping Hellenic HEROes (Hellenic Emergency Response Officers)/ co American Hellenic Education Progressive Assn. Nelefs Chapter 516

The grant supports the Helping Hellenic HEROes (Hellenic Emergency Response Officers) campaign to raise funds for the participation of firefighters and police officers from Greece in the 2015 World Police and Fire Games in Fairfax, Virginia. The Greek delegation, comprised of 32 firefighters and 21 police officers, will compete in 15 sports, including sports where they have previously won gold, silver, and bronze medals. Founded in 1922, the Order of AHEPA encompasses over 500 chapters in the United States, Canada, Australia, The Bahamas, and Greece. “AHEPA” is an acronym that stands for American Hellenic Education Progressive Association. The Nelef’s Chapter 516 was established in 1992 in Frederick, Maryland.
