For a research program on coronary heart attack implications. The research team in the Cardiovascular Research Unit studies the process of restoring the heart’s original healthy condition after a heart attack. As part of the program´s molecular research, the team analyzes the state of human cells before, during, and after a heart attack. The Cardiovascular Research Unit of the Pharmacology Laboratory was founded in 1993 within the framework of existing collaboration between the Onassio Cardiological Center and the Pharmacology Laboratory. The Unit comprises a physiology laboratory, a small animal laboratory, a molecular biology laboratory and a cell culture laboratory.
