Spotlight on 25 Years of Grantmaking: Notes from SNF Legal Officer Christina Ataroglou
Why is SNF’s mission important to you?
SNF funds organizations and projects across a wide range of fields with a global perspective. It promotes and supports collaborative efforts of civil society partners, which consistently aim to innovate and remain committed to their vision and work.
This values-driven relationship between SNF and its partner grantees can contribute to the nonprofit ecosystem developing targeted actions in order to tackle the ongoing societal challenges while, at the same time, identifying new challenges in social inclusion, social welfare, culture, and other areas.
What’s your favorite part of working at SNF?
Grantmaking and philanthropy in general is a dynamic area, which is heading towards new and innovative ways of helping those in need by different means while sharing a common goal— empowering humanity! Being part of the SNF family for over a year now made me realize that it is an extremely motivating challenge to interact with a network of inspirational people (SNF colleagues and SNF grantees) working together to create a positive outcome for this common goal. Coming from a legal background, it is incredibly rewarding to liaise between the disciplines of philanthropy and law, as it provides me perspective on issues much larger than myself and this, in turn, gives me greater insight into my personality and perceptions.
