Winners of the 2024 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize honored in Italy
The winners of the 2024 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize received their awards as part of the Tällberg Foundation’s workshop on leadership held in Pavia, Italy. This year’s winners were recognized for their efforts in helping conserve aquatic ecosystems in the Amazon Basin, championing quality journalism in Latin America, and expanding access to health care in low-income countries.
The winners, Dr. Kristian Olson, María Teresa Ronderos, and Fernando Trujillo, were presented their awards by Ambassador Vassilis Kaskarelis, Senior Advisor to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Board of Directors. During his speech, Ambassador Kaskarelis said, “The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) has consistently and proudly supported Tällberg Foundation’s efforts around leadership and is supporting the Prize and the workshops organized here this week. Our Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos is a firm believer in the power of people with ethos and vision, and SNF has remained steadfastly committed to empowering humanity for almost 30 years. Our vision and mission are in harmony with that of Alan Stoga and the Tällberg Foundation, and we are proud and humbled to be celebrating outstanding individuals.… These leaders embody the very essence of the Tällberg Foundation’s mission: to identify, honor, nurture, and network outstanding individuals who understand the challenges our societies face, take bold risks, and, above all, create lasting impact. Their work inspires us all to strive for a better, more equitable world.”
The Prize seeks to recognize established leaders from around the world whose work is innovative, courageous, and helps catalyze positive change at a global level. SNF is a longstanding supporter of the Tällberg Foundation, as well as its Tällberg Leaders Mentoring Leaders program.
