Open SNF Events on Culture and Health Invite All to Join the Conversation
Feb 13, 2020
This past week, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) held two open public events in Athens, one focusing on cultural resources in Greece and the other on SNF’s major ongoing Health Initiative.
The open public events reflects a critical element of SNF’s mission: opening forums for public discussion and dialogue. Creating lasting positive change in society requires collective, collaborative, transparent action. Private philanthropic foundations like SNF must work together with the public sector, with organizations in the field, and with members of the public whose lives are affected.
In the case of a need as universal and fundamental as access to art and cultural resources or quality healthcare, that’s all of us. Participation must not be limited to those with institutional voices, but include everyone, especially the young people who are our future.
A very warm thank you to the 500 people who joined the culture event and the 520 people who joined the health event in person, as well as all those across the world who joined by livestream, and to our special thanks to all of our wonderful grantee partners who took part! By working together we can maximize our impact.
