Open Door’s Temporary Living Facility has offered kids a happy second home for 20 years

Dec 05, 2024
Cerebral Palsy Greece – Open Door works to meet the real and intrinsically human needs of people living with cerebral palsy—needs they share with everyone else, like experiencing joy and spending time with friends.

A key site of this work is its Temporary Living Facility, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with a celebration for children, parents, caregivers, and supporters.

The event took place on Tuesday, December 3, and included representatives from the Greek state, philanthropic foundations, peer organizations, and many distinguished friends who have recognized and supported the Facility’s work over the years, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). We had the pleasure of participating in this moving event and being honored, alongside other philanthropic institutions, corporations, and private individuals, as long-term supporters of their work.

Cerebral Palsy Greece – Open Door has consistently served people with cerebral palsy in Greece since it was founded in 1972. It offers multifaceted support, encouragement, and hope to people with cerebral palsy at every stage of their lives, supports their families, trains staff, influences public opinion, and encourages scientific research, especially into the causes of the condition and possible preventive measures.
