Through a collaboration between the Athens School of Fine Arts and the MeetFrida Foundation, Greek artists headed to Hamburg, then German artists headed to Hydra, where a group exhibition is on from July 7-31.
The exhibition is open between Tuesday and Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Annex of Hydra at the Tompazi mansion in the Greek island’s port town.
The residency program, Modern Fiction, brought together five Greek and five German artists to engage in dialogue, gain exposure to a new locus of artistic production, and expand their international artistic networks. The exhibition in Hydra follows one held in Hamburg in May.
A wide range of SNF grants have supported artists in developing their practice, connecting with one another, and sharing their work with wider audiences, in the process giving us occasion and new vocabulary for discussing timely questions confronting humanity.
