Since 1915, The National Herald has both captured and been a part of the rich and varied life of Greek-American communities.
Now, for the first time, a hundred years of history, as captured in the newspaper, will be available as a resource for the public, researchers, and historians through the new National Herald digital archive.
The Stavros Niarchos foundation (SNF) provided grant support for the creation of the archive, recognizing the newspaper as an unparalleled testament to the 20th-century history of the Greek diaspora in the United States. The Foundation has supported other efforts to document and preserve the history of Greek diaspora communities, including notably McGill University’s Virtual Museum of Greek Immigration to Canada.
