Last year, ARTWORKS made awards to 60 artists, inspiring them to continue creating and posing critical questions through their work. For 2019, ARTWORKS will make awards to 80 art professionals, aged 25 to 35, and will broaden the range of artistic fields encompassed by the program.
This 2nd SNF Artist Fellowship Program will support 75 artists and 5 contemporary art curators active in one of the following areas:
- Visual Arts: painting, sculpture, engraving, photography, installation, performance, video art, digital and multi-media art
- Cinematography: fiction, documentary, animation
- Dance: performance, choreography
- Curatorial
Applications for the program open on February 4 and will close on February 24, 2019*. The program will run for 8 months (September 2019 to May 2020), providing financial support of €8,000 to each of the participants.
In addition to this financial support, through the SNF Artist Fellowship Programs, participants will have the opportunity to take part in seminars, workshops, and master classes taught by distinguished professionals in the field, with the aim of developing new skills while exchanging views and ideas.
The project is part of the SNF’s Recharging the Youth initiative, which focuses on supporting and empowering Greece’s younger generation by opening up new opportunities for professional training and acquiring skills.
