Lincoln Center to Launch New Outdoor Venues and Programming as part of Landmark Collaboration with SNF
Restart Stages, part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation-Lincoln Center Agora Initiative, lays out a plan for transforming the New York institution’s outdoor campus into a hub of arts access and civic engagement. More than ten new venues will be created to host music, dance, film, cultural events, a reading room, and public services like food bank distributions.
On the announcement, Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos commented, “SNF is proud to support Lincoln Center in realizing a more expansive and inclusive vision for public space, one that sees arts, culture, education, and community engagement as facets of the same civic project.”
Restart Stages is made possible through the SNF-Lincoln Center Agora Initiative, a partnership that explores a new approach to public space through international “twin agoras” at Lincoln Center in New York City and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, as part of SNF’s $100 million global COVID-19 relief effort.
