Delta restaurant earns two MICHELIN stars and a sustainability recognition

Sep 29, 2022
After a little more than a year of serving exquisitely prepared meals at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), Delta restaurant has demonstrated that is a formidable force in the international world of gastronomy, receiving two MICHELIN stars, as well as a Green Star in the selection for the Athens MICHELIN Guide.

This distinction puts Delta restaurant in rarified company, among the 3% of restaurants deemed worthy of two MICHELIN stars from their very first evaluation. The Green Star recognition is equally important, helping visitors appreciate the special value of combining high culinary art with a commitment to sustainability by following the fundamental principle of “no loss, no waste.”

Delta was created through an initiative and a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), with the goal of becoming a landmark culinary destination in line with the high standards of the SNFCC, while simultaneously showcasing Greek cuisine globally.

SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos said, “Congratulations to George Papazacharias, Thanos Feskos, and the entire team at Delta Restaurant, and to Dipnosofistirion! Within just over a year of operation, and under adverse conditions, the restaurant managed to earn one of the most significant international distinctions in the field, highlighting it as one of the world’s most outstanding gastronomic destinations. All of us at SNF feel great joy and pride for believing in and supporting this effort, and for witnessing the vision for the creation of Delta—which complements the identity of the SNFCC as an international, environmentally sustainable model public space—become a reality that has been seen and recognized as a unique dining experience.”
