Notice on the Processing of Personal Data Collected in the Context of Grant Making Activities

This notice stipulates the principles applied by the SNF during processing of your personal data and aims to inform you with regard to said processing that is performed in the context of grant making activities. We would like to assure you that the SNF is committed to protecting the security, integrity and confidentiality of your personal data and to inform you of the following:

1. What categories of personal data do we collect on you and from whom do we collect it?

We collect from the organizations to which we make grants or whose grant requests we evaluate, certain personal data of a professional nature on the employees of, suppliers of and persons who provide services to these organizations. More specifically, the personal data we collect and process are the following:
(i) basic identification data (name and surname, Identity Card number and TIN),

(ii) contact information (including telephone number and email and work address),

(iii) financial data (receipts, invoices, salaries and wages), and

(iv) data concerning professional experience (including CVs, academic degrees and qualifications)

2. For what purposes do we collect your personal data and what is the legal basis for processing of this data?

We collect, process and store your personal data for the purpose of ensuring correct management of SNF grants by grantee organizations. The legal basis justifying this processing is the prevailing legal interest of the SNF in ensuring that the grantee organizations use our grants for the purposes and under the terms we have stipulated.

3. With whom do we share your personal data?

In principle, we do not share your personal data with third recipients. By exception, your personal data may be shared with public authorities for the purposes of compliance with our legal obligations (for example, with the tax authorities) and before courts in the exercising and defence of the SNF’s rights. We also forward your personal data, via a digital platform, to our affiliated companies “SNF USA, Inc.”, which is based in New York, USA, and “FSN S.A.M.”, which is based in Monaco, for the purpose of integrated financial management of the grants we make globally.
Access to your personal data may also be acquired by third parties who provide services to the SNF, such as providers of accounting services, chartered auditors and providers of IT services. These persons undertake a commitment to process your personal data exclusively on our behalf and based on our documented instructions, and in compliance with the applicable law on personal data.


4. How do we process your personal data and how long do we retain it?

Our processing of your data is limited to the appropriate and relevant data necessary for the aforementioned purposes. As a rule, we retain your personal data for a maximum of twenty (20) years from the completion of the grant. If there is a relevant lawsuit pending before a Greek court, we will retain your data for six (6) years after the court proceedings.
When processing of your personal data is no longer necessary, your data are destroyed in a secure manner or rendered anonymous, unless the law specifies otherwise.

5. Your rights

You have the right of access to, correction and erasure of your personal data by us, and the right to object to and limit the processing of your personal data retained by the SNF. Additionally, you retain the right to submit a complaint to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority if you believe the SNF is in violation of the applicable law during processing of your personal data.
